The ‘Reachable by SMS and ‘Accepts SMS’ segmentation criteria

As you choose or create a recipient segment for your SMS send-out, you don’t need to use the ‘Reachable by SMS or ‘Accepts SMS’ criteria.

Engage will automatically only include recipients that both accept SMS communication and have a valid phone number registered on their contact card.

If a contact is “Reachable by SMS”, it means that they accept SMS, the phone number field on their contact card is not empty, and the number is not blocked.

If a contact “Accepts SMS”, they have given their consent to receiving SMS messages. However, they don’t necessarily have a valid phone number registered. In that case, they will not be counted as “Reachable by SMS”.
