How to add a Value split to an automation

Value splits allow you to assign different actions based on a range of values in an automation. This means you can merge similar workflows into a single automation. This helps to reduce the number of active automations you need to achieve the same results, giving you a better overview of your activities.

Value splits can be used in Answered an NPS-surveyNew or updated order and Custom trigger automations.

When you add a Value split a default group will always be set up to include all contacts not included in the splits you specify.

Value split in NPS automation

Adding a value split to an NPS-survey automation means you can communicate with your customers differently according to the NPS score they have given.

You can read more about how to use value split to follow up on NPS score here.

Value split in New or updated order automation

Adding a value split to a New or updated order automation means you can communicate with your customers differently according to the status of their order, their payment status or the language they use.

Example

In this example we will be sending a mail confirming that an order has been sent, using the value split to send an email in the language that the contact uses.

  1. Create a new New or updated order automation.

  9. Now your automation is set up and you can either save it as a draft to use later or activate it immediately.

Value split in Custom trigger automation

A Custom trigger is when you connect an external system to Voyado and use the information provided to trigger events. An example of this is an e-commerce system informing Voyado when articles are back in stock. Adding a Value split to a custom trigger automation is a simpler way of personalising your automations for your custom triggers.

Example

In this example we will create an automation for sending an email to your customers when an article is back in stock, using a value split for the different seasons.

  1. Create a new Custom trigger automation. For this example we are using Back in Stock.

  2. Set the entry criteria. For this example we are using Product Name Jacket.

  3. Next, click on the + and select Value split.
  4. This brings up the Value split panel. Select Variant from the Create split based on drop-down menu.
  5. In the Select value drop-down menu, select Equals as the operator, enter Summer as the Value and click OK.

    Screenshot_2022-04-19_at_14.40.08.png
  6. Click Add to add a split for each season you want to add. Then click OK.

    Screenshot_2022-04-19_at_14.42.23.png
  7. Now you need to add an Activity to each split. In this example we are sending an email in the language that the contact uses. Click on the + and select Activity and then Send email message.

    Screenshot_2022-04-19_at_13.13.41.png
  8. You can prepare the email in advance or create a new one. Click OK to add the email and repeat this step for each split.

    Screenshot_2022-04-19_at_13.14.32.png
  9. Now your automation is set up and you can either save it as a draft to use later or activate it immediately.

As you can see, Value splits are a great way of using the same automation for communicating with different groups of contacts, with content tailored for each. You can use several splits within the same automation for even more flexibility.
