All emails sent through Engage will generate statistics, so you can analyze each campaign and test your way to optimal results. The full statistics are not presented in real time, and some time may have to elapse before the numbers become accurate.

Engage displays aggregated email statistics for recipients and delivered emails. The data is presented in the list view of sent emails as soon as recipients start to receive the email as shown in the image below.

Individual statistics, such as unique recipients, unique opens, and unique clicks, will be presented and ready to act on as soon as the statistics are calculated. Click on the email in question to access the detailed statistics.

The numbers in the Delivered widget on the Overview tab may require up to two hours before they become stable and relevant on individual level. Likewise, the Activity metrics needs at least 24 hours before they can be considered accurate.

Delivered

In this widget you can act on contacts that have opened the email, or on contacts that have resulted in a hard or soft bounce. The Action button is clickable as soon as the numbers are starting to show up.

If you want to know more about bounces, click here.

The Unknown status number represents the percentage of contacts where the recipient mail server has not yet sent a response or where the mail server temporary blocked the delivery. Engage will try to deliver the email for 72 hours. If it is still blocked after that, the email status will be considered a Soft bounce.

Domain statistics

You will also be able to find out more about domain statistics by acting on each delivery status. By entering the Domain overview, you will see a list of domains, number of recipients with each specific domain and share of domain within the total recipient group.

The lists are available for download if you want to analyze the domain list for hard and soft bounces further.

Purchase statistics

These statistics are found in the widget on the right-hand side, below the recipient information. The statistics presented here show the impact of the message in purchasing metrics, and the numbers are only available when transactional data is imported to Engage. There are three drop-downs:

  • Show purchase statistics for everyone who either received, opened, or clicked on a link in the email.
  • Time from send-out from 1 day up to 1 month.
  • Based on sales from either physical store, online, or both.

Make your settings and click Show purchase statistics to calculate.

All time frames are calculated from the time when the message was sent (e.g., when time is set to 1 day it means exactly 24 hours from send-out).

  • Made a purchase
Indicates the recipients that have made a purchase after receiving the message.
  • Conversion rate
Indicates the percentage of recipients that have made a purchase after receiving the message.
  • Purchases per converted customer

  • Average receipt

  • Total sales

If you used a control group for the specific email, the numbers for the control group are presented in the rightmost column, making it easy to compare numbers.

Please note that the statistics include all purchases made by the recipients within the specified time frame, without directly attributing the receipts to the email at hand. For more precise purchase statistics, check the Message delivery statistics report and utilize the attribution model.

Appearance

On the Appearance tab you may preview the message and its appearance on different devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile phone). You can also review click frequency and unique click frequency inside the message.

Comparing clicks in emails with other systems

Engage will record all external links clicked within an email for 30 days after the send-out date.

When comparing the metrics in Engage with other systems, such as site analytics, there will often be differences caused by:

  • Email containing links to other sites than the e-com site, which Engage will still count as a click. For example, social media, channels, customer support systems, documents.
  • Clicks occurring over time where Engage and the analytics system may not be completely in sync regarding the aggregated metrics.
  • The analytics system might track visits or sessions and not unique clicks
  • The analytics system may filter out some multiple clicks

Voyado will measure all external clicks within the email for 30 days after
the send out date. When comparing the metrics in Voyado with other
systems such as site analytics there will normally be differences caused
