Postmaster- and Abuse addresses

The postmaster@ and abuse@ email accounts for your domain are important. Receiving and acting on these email allows you to maintain the reputation and deliverability of your organization's email.

We strongly encourage you to set up a @postmaster and an abuse@ address for your sender domain to manage communication of different types:

  • You may receive an inquiry for the emails you are sending to a certain domain from the Postmaster from that domain.
  • One or more recipients may be on your list wrongfully and they want to tell you this by emailing the abuse-address.

In both these cases, and for other similar reasons, it's really important that you have these addresses set up properly for the domains that you are sending your emails from, and also for your main domain.
